Target Putting is an electronic ebook that comes in a PDF file. It was written by Darell Mckissick. The book is only about 20 pages long, but don’t let the size fool you. It is illustrated and full of the most unique information on putting to be found anywhere.
The general idea is that the way everybody putts is technically flawed. The contention is that putting is currently done using the fundamentals of golf. He then explains how this is wrong, because putting should be approached as a target game.
He then shows you how to adapt the basic fundamentals, as used in other games where hitting a target is the goal, and applies those to putting with what I can only call pure brilliance. The effect is that you will be playing a totally new game. The equipment is the same, but the object is different.
It provides some good setup advice to aid in alignment and line of sight. It also has some of the best advice I have ever heard for putting from fifteen feet and in. Other than that, the putting lesson in Target Putting will take what you have and make it work for you.
If you still believe you have heard everything there is to know about putting, you need to read this book. It will prove that everything you have learned about putting before was based on a false premise that has lead to all the problems you may be having.
Target Putting is something new and different. You will be asking yourself why no one has thought of it before. And you will not hear an explanation of putting like this anywhere else.
If you are only going to buy one book on putting Target Putting would have to be the best choice I have seen. It is the only unique take on putting I have seen in nearly forty years of playing and learning the game.
